ONSITE OFFERING · COMMUNITY HUBS
A hub that serves the crew on site and the community around it.
Crib rooms, ablutions and a training room for the people who keep the site running, and a local supplier desk that helps the mine meet its local-procurement commitments.
01 / What a community hub includes
Four functions, one modular footprint.
- Crew welfare — Insulated, air-conditioned crib rooms and self-contained ablutions close to the work area. — 01
- Training & skills — A training room for inductions, operator and technician training, and product training run with our OEM partners. — 02
- Local supplier desk — A point of contact for local suppliers, helping the mine grow the share of goods it buys locally. — 03
- Community access point — Safety inductions, PPE issue and information for contractors and the surrounding community. — 04
02 / Why it matters
Local procurement is now part of the licence to operate.
Zambia's local-procurement rules already require mines to source 20–25% of core goods locally, rising to 40% within five years. A community hub gives local suppliers a way in, and gives the mine evidence that they are being used.
- Local suppliers onboarded, trained and stocked through the hub
- Purchases from local suppliers recorded alongside imported lines on WIRE
- Training hours and inductions logged for reporting
